a friday poem. {except it doesn't rhyme.}

there is construction going on in the house where I work.
In the house where I work, there is a baby.
a sick baby. a sick baby who wants to sleep.
a sick baby who wants to sleep in the house where I work.
in the house where i work there is a nanny who has watched barney 50 times in the past two days.
in the past two days, while the baby cries and the saws and hammers beat us down from the upstairs.
while the saws and hammers beat us down from the upstairs, that nanny had an idea.
that nanny had an idea that changed that babys life.
the idea that changed that babys life was this - the white noise app combined with her white noise machine combined with her lamb that makes a heart beat sound - all turned on at once.
LOUD.
and that baby slept, while her nanny cleaned.
for two and a half hours.
and two and a half hours later, that baby woke up with no tears in her eyes, a smile on her face and a reason to carry on.
and when that baby woke up with no tears in her eyes, a smile on her face and a reason to carry on...
so did her nanny.

happy friday everyone!
