the day jessica felt small. enter the redwood forest.

AS IF we all didn't already know god was the most creative artist ever, enter the redwood forest because on the day god created these bad boys he must have thrown in an extra scoop or twenty of protein powder, because these monster trees do not disappoint.

personally, standing at five foot ten inches i have never been petite, or thought i was...only dreamed about how it would be to be little until i met the redwoods and i felt so small and tiny that i wanted to stay forever.  i looked at brad at one point and told him i felt like i was on honey i shrunk the kids, i mean...THAT BIG.

here, let me show you.
look at little ole me.  i mean i am soooo short.  i totally dressed for the trees this day too.  even wore a cute necklace because i wanted them to like me.
here's how it goes...
me:  hey babe, lets take our picture here.
then we wrangle our bodies together to what we think when holding the camera out in front of us, when turned around it will have captured us.  in the moment.  bliss.  and in love.
except that happens, well never.
this picture up above.  yeah.  as soon as we turned the picture around i was like "brad you look like a creeper!"
i mean, does he not? hilarious.
at least we think we are funny too.
then we found a tree (imagine that?) to sit the camera on and self timed this beauty.  i should stick to that from now on...
one of my favorite stops on our eleven day journey.  absolutely stunning the handiwork of god.  i couldn't help but think of the steven curtis chapman song "when i see you i see the fingerprints of god..." as we were walking around this heavenly place.

amazed.

here we go again! (seattle, portland, san fran...)

on august second, brad and i are headed on a road trip we have been talking about for about a year.  here's the layout.  you know brad has a website that covers film, filming locations, music and all things twin peaks, right?  so we will be flying to seattle on august second for the weekend.  also for the twin peaks festival to get our geek on, uh hum...

then we are leaving seattle monday morning and road tripping it on the 101 all the way to san francisco that next week.  with stops in portland, astoria...and the like---finally ending up in san francisco.  (hello, full house house...you know i gotsta see that!)

so now that you have our trip pencilled in your calendar.  tell me, have you been to washington, portland or san fran?  what should we see, do, there?  any off the beaten path places we HAVE to go?  or any cool local restaurants?
help a girl out!

p.s.  dj tanner (candice cameron bure) TWEETED at me and told me her favorite restaurants in napa.  oh yes she did!!!

no words needed.

not gonna lie, i just got finished watching the bachelorette and i can't get dolly's song "from here to the moon and back" out of my head.  such a sweet song and provided an even sweeter melody for the blog as i begin to write.

brad and i were in georgia for the weekend.  we had no plans in nashville and decided a get a way was in order.  i love road trips, and i love road trips with just brad.  the road trips where you talk and talk and talk or sometimes the ones where you sit in silence for minutes and hours and just enjoy each others presence. i have always said you know someone well when you can be quiet in their presence.  you know, no fillers?  no words needed.  just be.  those in between moments of silence sometimes are my favorite.

so with that i will show you our trip in pictures.  no words needed.

from here to the moon and back.  dolly's sweet words are still hanging out in my head singing to me, and offers such a sweet reminder of love.  it was a good weekend, this past month has been a really tough month for me and it was nice to get away with my only cares being locating the nearest starbucks and keeping up with the kardashians my camera.

i feel filled up as i start this week off with tuesday.
you?
