princess leia.

here's the thing about being a nanny, you must remain humble but every now and again you have to show off, just for no other reason than job security.

i've had several of those moments this week.

she and her brothers were headed to a star wars birthday party and their mom and i were talking about who and what she should be...then i came up with this...

sometimes i even amaze myself.

i mean, thats a pretty PRETTY sweet princess leia.

everything's better with a little instagram touch.
can i get an amen?

costume:
white cotton little girls slip from her closet
white turtleneck from her closet
her moms belt, sinched in the back with a rubberband.

free and easy.

and perhaps the sweetest face you have ever seen.
(look at those toes...sweet!)

thirty one. and...BOO!

and because i like to leave you with treats and not tricks...here's your treat for the day for trick-r-treatin' at my blog...

5 things you may not know about me...
1.  my favorite number is 42.  has been forever.
2.  i wear a watch everyday and a tiffany's bracelet that i received for my 30th birthday.
3.  my hair is currently the longest it has ever been.  ever.  lord help me...it is looooong.  like i might could be repunzel for halloween long.
4.  i have NEVER dressed up for halloween.  no never.  not even as a kid.
5.  my current favorite tv show is a toss up between castle and dexter.

and how happy are YOU that you know this little treat???  i mean, whats better...a good ole twix shoveled out of the bottom of the halloween loot or knowing five new things about me?  i know, that's what i thought.  you are soooooooo lucky.  just imagine if i would have told you ten!?

i gotta save something for thanksgiving!  shesh.

what are you (or your sweet kiddos) being for halloween?  leave a comment, i would love to know and if you post some sweet (or scary pictures) tell me, so i can trick-r-treat to your blog and see the fun.

here's to tooooo much candy!
hip hip...
hooray!

supermodel smiles {and halloween goodies}.

here's what happens when you are told you are cute A L O T.  you believe it.  and then when you say "lil bit, lil bit!  smile for caca..." you get the whole tongue out of the mouth wanna-be-a-supermodel pose.  bless her, she can't help it.  if i looked like that i might pose the same.
i mean, there's cute.  and then there's this.
this is cuteness.  i can hardly stand it.
make out session with a pumpkin anyone?  anyone?
come on...

speaking of make out sessions with pumpkins...(AKA halloween) i have some goodies to show you so you can impress everyone you know with your creative genius skiiiilllllz.
tell 'um morrison lane sent you.
i am convinced that if tori spelling would not have been aaron spellings daughter and an actress she might have been the next martha stewart.  for real.  girl is always posting something great on her twitter, and she is creatiiiiive.  all the six pictures above and below were pictures she tweeted last year.  good stuff...and even better EASY good stuff!  follow her on twitter at torianddean, she is always tweeting something lovely for the eyes. {if you can't read the directions to each picture, email me or TWEET me and i will send you the directions directly.}
and while your at it...follow me too...i'm morrisonlane (i like to keep it simple)

pun'kin carving will do a body good.

one of the little fellas has been sick lately and has felt like doing a lot of nothing - besides playing wii and watching tom and jerry, of course.  he really has felt bad, but tuesday he got a burst of energy and we went crazy and carved a pun'kin.

he volunteered to take pictures if i would get the gooey stuff out of the inside.  i obliged.  i kinda like the gooey stuff in a weird kinda therapeutic way.

i have issues, hear me roar.

so while i was busy 'doing' - he was capturing it all on iphone camera.  and he didn't drop my phone one time.  i love that boy.

and might i add, he can take a pretty good picture.  i kinda want to take credit for the pictures...

but without further aduuuuuuuuuuu.....introducing...

pun'kin carving by jessica.
photos by my little fella.

and i know who did the better job.

i do.  i do.

thanks for showing me up, dude.

i thought you were sick?

p.s. that pumpkin is EXACTLY what the little fella requested.  MEAN eyes...and those are EVIL!  and a triangle nose with a MEAN mouth.  and he was pleased.

so stop the snickering at my lack of pun'kin skills because in a five year olds eyes i achieved perfection.

happy halloween to you too, boo.
