four.

all of my life i have dreamed,
that somehow love would find me.
now i can't believe your standing here.
if beauty is all in the eye, of the beholder,
than i am beholding true beauty.
-geoff moore

four months, and every day i am proud to be your wife.
proud of the man you are.
i believe in your hopes.
i believe in your dreams.
my life is better because of you.
i love you.

randomography from the road.

so as excited as i was to go on this jaunt with you know who, i was also excited to see

mcdonalds.

{i have a hard time pronouncing the 'mc' in mcdonalds and say MACdonalds.  i know it is wrong.  if you hear me say it, please do not correct me.  i know i know.  this weekend, i also happened to say the word mcminnville, only i said MACminnville and you know who laughed at me.  which is not nice.  not nice at all SIR.  he offered no apologies.}
this MACdonalds (thank you very much) was featured on the travel channel a few years ago for its niceness and wow factor, with a fire place and environment to match.  so as excited as i was that we were across from the biltmore, i made brad SLAMMMM on his brakes when i saw this place (he loves it when i do that), because i have been wanting to see it far longer than i have been wanting to see the biltmore.

it's history people.  MACdonalds have been around a long time.

but i was so let down, samantha harris and the travel channel made it look so so cool and it was nicer than the MACdonalds in east nashville.  yes.  but nothing to write home about.

or write a blog about...

moving on...

you may or may not know this, but i have always called my only brother 'bubba.'  i am the only person that calls hims this, as it is not his nickname, he is just my bubba.  always has been always will be.  so i made a point of letting him know this to the whole city of pigeon forge, tennessee.

he can thank me later.
and no, these are not myself and two of my closest friends.  good try.  bless their hearts, i think they thought they looked cute, and maybe they did.  and i was a non participator with a bad attitude, but girls, girls, girls...
and all i have to say about this is...if you watch LOST, or have watched LOST, this should concern you.  because well...it just should.  because smoke monsters are not nice.  i thought they were only on islands and here it was in gatlinburg.  lawsy mercy.
and this little guy, we'll call him eagle eye for no reasons other than the obvious.

he is an eagle.

he has eyes.

i am all creative like that.

hey there, little eagle eye...smile for the camera...
 such a prude.

he thought we were going in here.  he also told me that it was not that scary.  and i believed him.  because i am a good girlfriend.
good girlfriend?

whaaaaaa!?

no longer...now i am a fiance.
here's the homeless looking, dirty, in need of make up and a hair do jessica proof.  this is one second after that cute boy asked me to marry him.

i thought if i made it black and white it, it might make me look better.

sorry for your luck (as one of the little fellas says to me on a daily basis...)

ray lamontagne for president.

sunday night, ray lamontagne came to music city.  he brought with him, his friend, david gray, which i thought was pretty nice of ray, personally.  to share the stage and all.  he is such a nice guy like that.

to say the least, ray lamontagne is one of my favorite artist.  i used to could stay he is my stand alone favorite, but since the introduction of www.braddstudios.blogspot.com into my life and his own personal music and the other greats (uh hum, the national...) he has introduced to me, my list of favorites have grown.  and are growing.  i am quite cultured in concert going as well these days (more on that later, i have a brag list that i shall share with you when it is complete.)

a friend asked me last night, "how was ray?"  which is not the best question to ask me, because he could seriously stand on the stage and just...do nothing.  and i would still think it was amazing.  but last night, he TORE IT UP.  he was awesome, incredible.  his new album combined with some of his older stuff made the night complete.

my only complaint was...it ended wayyyy to quickly.  why can't he do a six hour show?  i mean, is he LAZY.  geez!

here are some pictures of the local opening gal, erin mccarley, who i had seen before and was really good.  she was accompanied by k.s. rhoads, who is also local nashville and i am also a fan of him and his clothing, dude is a snazzy dresser, not gonna lie.  then there are some of ray and david.

and wouldn't you know it, my camera settings were all screwy until after ray was over and the house lights came on between sets and i was able to fix it, so no good shot of ray.  fail, i know, i know.

what a good night.

and the 'best thing that ever happened to me' happened to be sitting right beside me when ray sang "you are the best thaaaaang that eva happened to me..." so it made the night that much more special.  happy. me.
do you know it makes me a little crazy that all of the pictures were blurry until david gray?  uuugggghhh.  get it together, jessica!

hey!

"i gots this new camera here and i am gonna need to take your picture. please and thank you."

"ummm...what? please leave me alone, can't you see i am busy on google maps."

"seriously, jessica. remove the camera
from my face"

"thank you my kind sir for your participation."

"ewwww...ahhhh...
cut your eyes at me that will be a good shot!"

"no problem. i don't even have to move."

"dear lord, she's still here. if i am
MUTE she will go away."

"no such luck."

"annoying, she is. but she is also..."

"huuuuuuuuuuuuu-larious!"

"...and then he took a sip of diet coke and i knew this photo shoot was over."

dang it.

merry christmas

better late than never!
i know you have all been anxiously awaiting my christmas greeting, and i am sorry that i have let each and everyone of you down. so i will make it up and go ahead and wish you a
happy new year.
do you love me again?
thank you.

as many of you have hear me belly ache and whine over the course of FOREVER...i have been wanting a nikon D90 for all my live long days. i want to be a photographer when i grow up and this is the camera that will get me there.

and.....

for christmas this year,
i got the nicest and sweetest, most thoughtful present ever...
a D90.

i am still in awe of the gift and the camera. it is so professional, and i think this camera will really take me where i want to go. i already can see a lens addiction in my future... it is my new favorite possession and my favorite person gave it to me.

pretty good combination, amirite?

so here's a taste of what's to come. these pictures have no editing, they are straight out of the camera. i want to think i just have that eye for the shot, but this camera is simply amazing and i am thinking that one of the little fellas could be a photographer with this awesome camera.
