all about peggy!

if you read this post, you know last april and the months to follow were hard.  we lived a lot of life last april.

funny how life is sometimes though?

in june after that may, after dog sitting for a poodle for some friends and falling in love (with that dog, WE were already in love.  kiss kiss, love love), we decided it may be our turn at dog ownership.  brad wasn't exactly sold, we loved the dog we had for a month or so, but did we really want a pup?

i knew we needed a dog. one day while carousing on facebook (one of my PET PEEVES is hearing people saying or having facebook conversations aloud, anyway.) i saw this little ugly black poodle on facebook marketplace.  the picture wasn't great, but she looked just like the little poodle we had dogsat. i get really obsessive and excited about things.
you knew this?
and immediately contacted the owner of this pup and asked if she was still available.  she was.
i emailed brad in a hot mess panic and told him i had to work that evening, but he needed to go see her.

see how that works...?

he needed to go see her. i knew we would go to bed that night having a dogter.

that was june. this was last week.

peggy has completely stolen our heart, if you hang around on my instagram you see her often.  she is the best girl ever.  she's just chill and loves love.  and we love loving on our girl.

we often talk about how god really just brought her into our lives because he knew we were still a little sad and we needed her in our family.  we did need her.  and every day when she wakes up on the pillow on her back right between us, there's no way not to start your day happy.

woof, woof, bark, bark,
jessica

iphoneonly (aka: IG for the week)

here's what's been happening over at instagram this week if you follow me there, if not, find me!
i'm morrisonlane on IG, i like to keep it simple.

peggy.  always ready for her close up.
masters and hart of dixie.
my two favorites, and that one in the blue shirt is especially pretty.
new NYC mug with a taxi on it.  i mean, come on!
picture day for lil bit's ballet class.
the annual lowes pick-up-flowers-for-spring-and-summer day.

have a good weekend, friends.

on being still.

clean eating: peach, egg whites, ezekial bread with natural peanut butter and honey with a side of kindle.
today was one of those days.  one of those days when i needed to turn the outside world off.  it wasn't a bad day.  no stress, really.  just a day that i needed to "just be."  i could feel it stirring in my soul.

so i ran home after an early morning at work, threw the dishes that needed to be cleaned in the dishwasher, tidied up the kitchen, let the pup out to play, started a load of laundry, put the computer away.

left the cellphone in the car and grabbed a book, walked outside and was.

nothing on my mind but the characters in my book, set in london.  the wind blowing, the birds chirping.
content.

soon enough i will head back to work this evening, but for now, i am still.
(this post was written last thursday)

dog fighting. no really, fighting dogs. well, not really.

as i sit here in my peaceful  house tonight at my computer, ready to write, the lights are just right, the TV is off, brad is busy working on a project...it's just me and the glowing lights of the screen...
and these two.
uncle brad and aunt caca are dog sitting our nephew, stewart, in all his regal name highness.  he and peggy london are best friends forever already.  and like to make our house a track meet that consists of running in circles until one of them finds the perfect hiding place.  and then it starts over again.
it neva stops, round the clock entertainment.
call me lucky.
heck, call me blessed.
i'm calling the pound!

that's a JOKE.  no pounds will be called.
but that dear stuffed animal never deserved to be torn apart by his ear and leg.
a dogs gotta do what a dogs gotta do.

the end.
p.s.  i think the writing is going to have to wait.  cause here comes breaking bad!  holla.

our resident fur ball.

she looks like a little black ball of fur, and she is.  i think she is pretty comfortable living here.  we lucked out when we adopted this ball of fur, peggy london.  she's a good puppy, sweet and mostly cute.    i think she feels the same about us:  good humans, sweet and cute.

growing up, we had every country dog in the book.  if there was a stray within a ten mile radius of morrison lane, we fed it and then it ruined moms flowers in the spring, she cursed it (cursing:  you stupid dog!  roy!  come and look what this dog did!  not #$%^ cursing.  she would appreciate me clarifying) and swore she hated dogs, but still fed them all...repeat times ten for my entire life.  but we never had an inside dog, a dog that was mine that i had to take care of---there was millard filmore, yes, but he was outside.

peggy london.  so glad we found you.

peggy london.

so remember we got a new puppy?  she's six months old and i like her a lot.  don't you?
official name peggy london.
(i'll let you guess where the middle name came from...)
