iworkout: workout clothes

for forever, i bought workout clothes at target.  you know, workout clothes = black loose fitting yoga pants and a tshirt that i have had for forever.  workout clothes, right?
wrong.

wrong for years and years and years.

[i believe] working out consistently and getting into a routine of working out is as much a mind game as a physical game.  and looking the part completely messes with your mind, it also makes you feel cute and put together and who doesn't want to work out when you have an awesome outfit that is all cute and put together?  [this is the part where you raise your hand]

honestly, my boss gave me a gift card to lululemon LAST february for my birthday, this birthday because i was afraid of looking cute, [or maybe i didn't think i could fit into lululemon] i still had not spent it.  so she bought me some pants in exchange for the gift card.  sometimes i am complicated like that.  and they FIT.  and were awesome!  fit with room and were long enough {i'm 5'10"} and i loved them so much, i bought another pair of fitted capri pants from them.  which i love as well.

but those pants together were nearly $200.00 which makes me cringe just a little a lot.  but i loved how i felt in them.  i felt so put together and just like i was a real life workout girl.  you know that feeling? i'm learning it.

sure, i was still rocking my bubba gump t-shirt from hawaii circa 2000, but it was a small step in the right direction.  for my brain, and my body.

then one day, i stumbled upon old navys workout clothes and thought "man, i need to try these pants!  they were on sale for $15.00 and that is a price i can wrap my head around.  so i ordered a few pair...and i LOVED THEM.

loved them.

six pair deep.  i love them.

i even have shirts to match now.  well, not exactly match.  i'm not a huge fan of matching, but shall we say "go together, coordinate?" - you name it, i am decked out daily in my old navy attire.  sports bra, shirt and the capri leggins.

yesterday, i ordered two more pair.  they were on sale for $15.00 and then an extra 20% off, i mean, YOU CAN NOT beat that price people, and they are awesome.

i have only ordered/worn the compression capri and full length pants.
here's some pictures of some other goodness i own.  dude.

i said ALL OF THAT TO SAY...up the ante on the workout attire.  trust me you'll be glad you did.  and i am pretty pretty confident you workout harder when you are wearing cute workout attire.
can i get an amen?

this was not a paid post, all these opinions are my own.  although, wouldn't it be awesome if it was a paid post?  because i totally just did old navy workout attire proud.

and the best ankles go to...

when i saw today's prompt Something someone told you about yourself that you'll never forget.
shoes c/o tory burch . skirt + shirt c/o old navy
the first thing that came to my mind when i saw today's prompt was when my former boss said to me one day in a rush to get in the door to watch her three children so she could leave for work...she looked at me and said, "you have the best ankles!" i remember thinking, "thanks, i think?"

i mean, the best ankles?  so people aspire to have good ankles?
are their ankle models?
'cause if so, sign me up.

i was dying for the best eyes superlative in high school.  didn't get it.
darn it.
BUT if there would have been "best ankles" you KNOW i would have gotten in.  hands down.

if you want a picture of my awesome ankles for your new screen saver, you just call me.
because these ankles are dying to show off.

that's all i got.
ankles out.

business in the front. party in the back.

so as soon as i tried on this shirt a few months ago, that was my first thought 'business in the front, party in the back!' it's a mullet shirt! and it's blue.  perfection in a shirt.  holla.  really, that's a lie.  i didn't think that BUT when i looked at these pictures, i did. so let's just go with "i'm really that witty all the time..."

these shoes. they are neon yellow and awesome. i think i am addicted to that color this season, maybe for forever.  i have noticed myself gravitating so much towards that color, i am starting to look like a neon walking billboard.

that's unfortunate.

at least you can see me coming from a mile away.

***these outfit post are a struggle for me, but i am going to do my best to keep them up because it's good for me.  therapy.  and when i actually get dressed, i look pretty cute somedays.  and i mean, with clothes that are mullet worthy, i know you will stay interested...  right?

wiww {wraslin' edition}

monday nights we usually watch wrestling.  yes, i just wrote that sentence.  my name is jessica and i watch wrestling with my husband on monday nights.  i forgo dancing with the stars and castle for a later date so i can watch his favorite with him.  go ahead, tell me how great i am.

kidding.

we all are so so busy, most of us work full time (if not more) and i think it is so important to not forget to spend time on your relationship.  even if it is something you would never in a million years do alone, if it is important to the other person, give a little, sacrifice---watch that show he wants to watch.  sit on the couch with your love and take interest in what he is interested in.

ask questions.
be involved.
be engaged.

well, lucky ME.  we didn't watch wrestling on TV monday night.  nope.

we watched it LIVE.
for real.

and because i have made a choice to spend the time with brad on mondays watching wrestling.  being engaged, listening, learning.  i know what is going on.  i could have a wrestling conversation with the best of them.

i don't say this to brag at all.  just to serve as a reminder to all of us.
spend time on your relationships.
invest in him.  even when you think you are going to be bored out of your mind.  you might surprise yourself.
because when i see brad happy and engaged, and then when he sees me honestly taking interest in what he is interested in---it matters.  he notices.

he also noticed that i didn't have workout clothes on and was dressed.  what do ya know?

busted out the first scarf of the season...i think it brought out the roots in my hair and how bad i need some color, but whatever.

and i am totally not that girl that totes her dog around everywhere.  do not call me paris hilton.  but she was dead set on chasing the birds and squirrels so girlfriend had to get in the picture.
she was just groomed so she was lookin' good too.

we had a fun night.
and in case you were wondering...

john cena's arm is still hurt.
vince mcmahon WAS there.
and cm punk is going to fight ryback in the hell in the cell match.
they signed the contract last night.

and i have pictures to prove it.  BAM.

wiww: a day at the park

we went to the park the other day and i happened to have the camera (to take pictures of the fellas) and after lots of begging on their parts to please ms. jessica please let us take a picture with your nice camera.  please we want to take a picture of you! i caved and after strapping it to their wrist secure ten times over, we had a photo shoot.
the result is a combo of little fella photography and yours truly photography.
we are that talented.
check out his face while his brother takes our picture.  cracks. me. up.

this same night i went to bed in this tank top (it has rows of rows of small beads at the top) on and all the sudden i felt something, a bead, perhaps in my hand and then i felt a string.  so naturally i pulled the string and a thousand little beads fell off into. my. bed., my. hand., my. everywhere. in our dark room.

so here and now:  this shirt has been retired.
you saw it here.
it almost didn't make it.

bye shirt.  you were good to me.

shirt and sweater:  old navy
jeans:  old navy
hat:  h & m
watch:  fossil
sandals:  report
sunglasses:  urban outfitters

my weekend uniform.

so this is my weekend uniform.  i have had these shorts for a few weeks now and i am going to wear them out by summers end. not even kidding, i don't know what i wore before i had them.

i met my friend for an early dinner the other night and she said "i feel like you belong in the hamptons with that outfit."  sold, confirmation that i should wear it all.  the.  time.

what's your go to outfit?

shirt, sweater:  old navy
shorts:  target
shoes: TOMS

p.s.  my face is the color of those shorts because i was DUMB the other day.  #fail #sunburn #boo

go big or go home. (WIWW)

struggling.
i was dressed all weekend.  shocker i know.  i wasn't running around naked.
dressed with make up - did i take a picture of myself and my cute outfits?
oh no, why in the world would i do that?
today it was up to me and me alone.  brad was gone and it was pouring rain and then it stopped and the lighting was perfect.  i was dressed and showered and make up.  so i grabbed my camera and a towel (it was really wet, remember?) and made it happen.
made it happen as in the pictures you see here.
go big or go home.  right?
i went big.
what am i even talking about?
and then i had this genius idea to tell you about my go to cheap mascara that beats out my
MAC and diorshow most of the time.  and it cost two ninety-nine.
(that's poetry, folks.)
then i realized my not smart self had it all turned around backwards so you would have no clue what i was showing you.
i also thought i was out of these pictures.
it's not normal to make kissy faces at your mascara.  but then again, i owe alot to that stuff.
mascara has saved the day time and time again.
maybe we should all kiss it more.
i'm kinda serious.
jacket: old navy
tanks: target
skirt: old navy
bracelet: mexico, looong ago (and it's a necklace)
shoes:  moccasins from new mexico
watch: fossil
mascara:  best lash extreme, jordana $2.99

i'll need therapy after this. [wiww]

something i despise is having my picture taken.  then add to that, having my picture taken alone, posing.  fuuuugetaboutit.
posting for the world to see.  no thanks.
and then there's the fact that i married someone who the camera loves and doesn't take a bad picture.
the other day, we were coming home from lil bit's ballet recital - i had showered, curled my hair, eyeliner and mascara on,
no workout clothes...so i thought well...
this just might be as good as it gets this week...and then i had an out of body experience and said to brad,
"hey, will you take some pictures for me for my blog?"
he was supposed to say no.
he said yes.
so i did what all the cool kids do and took pictures and decided to post them for what i wore wednesday.
if this becomes a regular thing, i might learn
1.  how to take a good picture.
2.  how to pose without looking posed
3.  how to remember to put lotion on my legs prior to the picture
4.  but lotion makes me sweat
5.  so do belts
6.  and last but not least, learn to never ever make this face again.
and that, my friends, was my virgin run at WIWW.  how'd i do?

dress:  old navy
jacket:  old navy
shoes: tj maxx
necklace: turquoise and pearls (i made that thing)
clutch:  coach (the best for concerts, hook it on your wrist and you are so good!)

my birthday. bowling. and a birthday suit (not really).

my birthday is superbowl sunday.  i am going to be 21, seemed like it would never ever get here!  that twenty-first birthday...shesh.  finally, i have arrived.  now i'm all legal and everything!  woot woot!  and since we are celebrating me turning twenty-one a long time agooooooo, girls gotta have a new birthday outfit.  i mean, if i need an excuse to buy something new...well, happy birthday taaa me.

can i get an amen?

so here's what i ordered...i got all craaaaay with the colored jeggins and since i have recently started drinking smart water in my attempt to become jennifer anniston with my newly lightened locks, i decided to go super ubber crazy and get these dark earring since you will be able to see those things since my hair isn't black anymore.

we are going to go to church, then lunch and bowling.  because we party like rockstars and the superbowl happens to be on, so we have to get in front of a tv in our proper places for those commercials DAAA GAME by 5 pm.

right now, i am barefoot.  i promise though, shoes just take more time.
give a girl a break.
i'm still trying to get used to the colored jeans.
p.s. i haven't gotten this in the mail yet, what if it doesn't come??? i'll be in my birthday suit!  ahhh (too much?  too far?)
